My current research focuses upon the long-term health consequences of the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster in terms of health and local social structure. In particular, I am interested in how the Fukushima nuclear disaster affected the physical health and overall well-being of the local cancer patients. More broadly, I am a researcher interested in disparity in cancer care and screening programs in both rural areas and developing countries, and outreach programs to enhance the access to health care, as well as general disaster medicine.
