Participou como aluno bolsista de Iniciação Científica (IC) no plano de trabalho "Consumo alimentar e estado nutricional antropométrico de agricultores familiares de Igaci, AL" vinculado ao projeto "Implantação do Observatório de Políticas Públicas de Combate à Pobreza e Garantia de Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional para o estado de Sergipe como espaço de Assessoramento em Pesquisa e Capacitação" (2016 - 2017). Prestou apoio técnico ao Observatório de Segurança Alimentar e Nutriciona (2019). Atualmento segue como participante do OSANES.

Possui graduação (2006) e mestrado (2008) em Nutrição pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). Cursou doutorado no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Saúde Coletiva da UFSC (2013). É Professora Adjunta do Curso de Graduação em Nutrição da UFSC. É líder do grupo de pesquisa "Teia de Articulação pelo Fortalecimento da Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional (TearSAN)" e membro dos grupos "Núcleo de Extensão e Pesquisa em Avaliação em Saúde (NEPAS/UFSC) e "Centro Colaborador em Alimentação e Nutrição do Escolar do Estado de Santa Catarina (CECANE/SC)". Atua principalmente nas seguintes áreas: nutrição em saúde pública, programas e políticas de alimentação e nutrição, avaliação em saúde, alimentação escolar (Programa Nacional de Alimentação Escolar) e segurança alimentar e nutricional.

He has a degree in Agronomy from the Federal University of Goiás (1992), a master's degree in Development, Agriculture and Society from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (1998) and a doctorate in Sustainable Development from the Center for Sustainable Development of the University of Brasília (2004). He currently works as an "A" researcher at Embrapa Tabuleiros Costeiros, in Aracaju (SE). He has experience in the field of Rural Development, with an emphasis on aspects of socio-productive organization in rural communities, acting mainly on the following themes: rural settlements, environment, family agriculture and agroecology.
