Dr. Owen, a Tlingit physician, is the Director of the Center of American Indian and Minority Health at the University of Minnesota Medical School on the Duluth campus. Her primary responsibilities include recruiting and retaining Native American students on the path to becoming physicians. She also educates students and the community at large on issues in Native health. She is the current President of the Association of American Indian Physicians.
