Prof Chris Rissel is at Flinders University as a Senior Research Fellow, based in Darwin, Northern Territory. He has a BSc(Psych)(Hons), MPH and PhD. He is an Honorary Professor at the University of Sydney and was previously the Director of the NSW Office of Preventive Health (responsible for implementing state-wide health programs). He is actively engaged in rural and remote health research, including workforce recruitment and retention, Aboriginal health and well-being, and health service evaluation and research.

Sue Lenthall is an academic with practice background as a remote area nurse. She was one of the first teachers with the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Education Program in Queensland, was the Executive Officer for the Council of Remote Areas Nurses of Australia before working as the education coordinator with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in Townsville. She was the foundation course coordinator of the Remote Health Practice program at the Centre for Remote Health and has developed curriculum for a variety of health professionals in rural and remote Australia. She has completed numerous evaluations and research projects related to remote health practice. She completed a PhD in ‘’reducing occupational stress among nurses in very remote Northern Territory and is currently the director of Katherine Campus, Flinders NT. Sue has won a number of awards, including two national teaching awards, a CRANAplus Research and Education award and the Aurora Award for leadership and outstanding contribution to remote area health in Australia.
