Dr Leah Macaden is a nurse academic and researcher since 1995. She has significant expertise in pedagogy and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programmes. She has developed a range of nursing programmes both in India and Scotland including authoring a text book on nursing management. She successfully developed a strategic and distinctive award winning undergraduate dementia curriculum called Being Dementia Smart in 2013 that is embedded throughout the pre- reg nursing programme based on the Scottish Promoting Excellence Framework. She is a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and is a peer reviewer / editorial board member of several international nursing journals. Her research interests include diabetes, care of older adults, sensory impairments, dementia, pedagogy in nurse education, global health, continuing professional development and international collaboration for nurse education and research.
