I am a Lecturer in Nursing at Queensland University of Technology and a Thoracic Nurse Consultant in Private Practice with visiting rights to most private hospitals in Brisbane Australia. My research interests include asthma, models of care, patient centred education, advance practice and quality in care. I am an active member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand and am a Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing Australia. My masters was in Social Planning and Development and the thesis examined aspects of compulsory tuberculosis screening in Queensland 1950-1977. My Phd (public health) is focused on asthma education in the emergency department.
