Dr. Sitnikov received his doctoral training at the Far-East Medical University (Khabarovsk, Russia) and his clinical training at The Sklifosovsky Scientific Research Institute (Moscow). Presently he is working as a Neurosurgeon in the Department of Neurosurgery of the Centre of Treatment and Rehabilitation of the Federal Agency of Health Care and Social Development. Dr. Sitnikov focuses on the surgical treatment of epilepsy and functional neurological diseases and disorders, with emphasis on minimally invasive procedures and intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring. Dr. Sitnikov's other clinical interests are epilepsy genetics, congenital brain abnormalities, traumatic brain injuries and neuro-oncology. He works in the close collaboration with Christopher A. Walsh Laboratory (Harvard, USA), studying the development and function of the cerebral cortex and the genes involved in this process.
