Richard Franklin PhD, is a Professor in Public Health - Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion at James Cook University and Senior Research Fellow at The Royal Life Saving Society - Australia and He has worked in the area of injury prevention and safety promotion for over 20 years, specialising in drowning prevention, rural and remote safety, agricultural safety, disasters, health systems, tropical health and occupational health and safety. His research interests in the area are wide ranging and have included epidemiological, translational, program evaluation, product evaluation and pure research using a range of quantitative and qualitative techniques.
