I graduated from the University of Bath, UK with an honours degree in Statistics in 1972, followed by a Masters Degree in Medical Statistics from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, under Professor Peter Armitage. My career has included seven years as a staff member of the World Health Organization in Geneva and Copenhagen as a consultant statistician, and 14 years as Principal Epidemiologist with the South Australian Health Commission. I am a statistical reviewer for the Medical Journal of Australia and the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Public Health. I am currently Senior Research Fellow in the Department of General Practice, Flinders University, Adelaide, South Australia and Deputy Director of the Clinical Epidemiology Unit, Flinders Medical Centre. I am hoping to complete at the end of 2001 a PhD in the area of foot morphology and its effect on function.
